Skip Hire Services in Radbrook

We deliver skips into Radbrook, on the south-west side of Shrewsbury (SY3), from £150, with next-working-day delivery as standard and same-day sometimes possible subject to availability, all run on our own fleet from our depot in Madeley, Telford — a family-run, Environment Agency registered firm with over 20 years serving Shropshire.

Local skip hire across Radbrook

Radbrook is really two generations of Shrewsbury suburb: the older streets along Radbrook Road and Mytton Oak Road, and the Radbrook Green estate behind them, with Bank Farm Road as its spine and the Collegefields side at its northern edge. We deliver across all of it — the homes around the Radbrook Green Shopping Centre and Radbrook Primary School, the streets alongside Rad Valley Woods, the College Gardens side on the former college site, and neighbouring Copthorne by the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. If your postcode starts SY3, we can almost certainly get a skip to you.

We'll be straight with you: we're not a Shrewsbury firm. Our depot is in Madeley, Telford, and we deliver into Radbrook down the M54 and around the A5 bypass. In practice that means every size in stock at our own yard — 3 and 4-yard minis, 6-yard midis, the ever-popular 8-yard, and 10 and 12-yard builders skips — no subcontracted drivers, honest next-working-day delivery and a standard 7-day hire. Book online in about two minutes or give us a call.

Skip sizes for Radbrook homes and projects

Most of Radbrook Green was built between the late 1970s and early 1990s — mainly detached and semi-detached family houses on cul-de-sacs, nearly all with their own driveways — and that generation of housing is now well into its renovation cycle. Original kitchens and bathrooms are coming out, and for those refits a 4 or 6-yard skip is usually the sweet spot: big enough for the units, tiles and old suite, small enough to sit neatly on the drive. A 3-yard mini suits a single-room clear-out or a garden tidy — and the mature plots here produce plenty of green waste, turf and soil.

Our 8-yard builders skip is the most popular all-rounder — roughly 80 bin bags' worth — and fits most Radbrook drives, ideal for a full house or garage clearance or a downsizing job in this long-settled, owner-occupied suburb. The 1930s semis along the Radbrook Road and Mytton Oak Road side tend to generate extension and conservatory strip-out waste, where a 10 or 12-yard gives you the room. One tip for driveway and patio replacements: heavy soil, hardcore and rubble hit safe weight limits long before the skip looks full, so split heavy loads across smaller skips.

Next-working-day delivery to Radbrook and SY3

The run from our Madeley depot is dual carriageway almost door to door: M54 west to Junction 7, where the motorway continues as the A5 Shrewsbury bypass, round the south of town past the Emstrey, Bayston Hill and Edgebold roundabouts, then off at the A5/B4386 junction onto Mytton Oak Road — the same route published for hospital traffic from the M54 — and into the suburb via Radbrook Road or Bank Farm Road. It's roughly a 30 to 40-minute run, so next-working-day delivery is our standard offer, with same-day sometimes possible subject to availability.

Every skip goes on your own private driveway or land — which suits Radbrook perfectly, as nearly every home on the estate has a drive. All the driver needs is a firm, level spot with clear access for the lorry. Because so many streets here are cul-de-sacs, have your exact street and house number ready when you book. Traffic runs slower at school-run time around Radbrook Primary and the Bank Farm Road shops, and at peak times on Mytton Oak Road serving the hospital — worth bearing in mind if you're waiting in.

Commercial skips around Radbrook

Trade work in Radbrook is mostly renovation-driven: kitchen and bathroom fitters working through the estate's 1970s-90s housing stock, landscapers reworking mature gardens, driveway and patio contractors, and builders on extension jobs along the older Radbrook Road side. We supply all of them with 8, 10 and 12-yard builders skips, exchanged or collected when you're ready for the next load.

For trades running several jobs across Shrewsbury's south-west suburbs — Radbrook, Copthorne and beyond — we offer scheduled and repeat collections and can set up a commercial account so you're not re-booking every week. Everything comes back to our own Madeley facility, and as an Environment Agency registered carrier we provide the waste transfer documentation that keeps your duty-of-care records straight.

Eco-friendly disposal at our Madeley facility

Nothing we collect in Radbrook gets tipped straight to landfill. Every load travels back to our own facility in Madeley to be sorted by hand and machine, and more than 90% of what we take away is diverted from landfill — wood, metal, rubble, soil and clean hardcore recovered for re-use, with as much of the rest as possible recycled or recovered.

General household and garden waste, construction and renovation debris, wood, metal, rubble, soil and old furniture can all go in. A few things can't, by law or for safety: asbestos, plasterboard (which has to travel separately from general waste), batteries, paint and other liquids, tyres, electrical items and WEEE, gas bottles and any hazardous chemicals. If a particular item has you unsure, mention it when you book and we'll point you to the right disposal route.

About Radbrook

Radbrook takes its name from the Rad Brook, the small stream that runs along the edge of Rad Valley Woods — two hectares of broadleaved woodland between Rad Valley Road and Rad Valley Gardens — before joining the Severn at Burrs Field. Its story is written in its buildings: the 1898 Radbrook College, originally the Shropshire Technical School for Girls, closed in 2014 and its site is now the College Gardens development, marketed as Radbrook Village; Radbrook Primary School opened in 1989 as the estate grew; and the community centre opened in 2005 after a decade of local fundraising. Usefully for skip deliveries, Radbrook sits away from the Severn's floodplain — the flooding that famously hits riverside Frankwell doesn't disrupt our lorries up here.

Green Skip Hire runs from our Madeley (TF7) depot, covering Telford, Shrewsbury and the wider Shropshire area. For full coverage, prices and FAQs, see our main service hubs: skip hire in Shrewsbury and skip hire in Telford.
