Skip Hire Services in Meole Brace

We deliver skips into Meole Brace (SY3), on the south-west edge of Shrewsbury, from £150, with next-day delivery as standard and same-day subject to availability - run on our own fleet from our Madeley depot in Telford, a family-run, Environment Agency registered firm with over 20 years in the trade.

Local skip hire across Meole Brace

Meole Brace is a suburb on the south-west edge of Shrewsbury, and we deliver skips right across it - the old Meole Village core around Holy Trinity Church, the period terraces and villas near it, the interwar and postwar semis of the wider suburb, and the newer estates on the fringes. We cover the A5112 Hereford Road corridor by Meole Brace Retail Park, the streets around Meole Brace School, and down the Rea Brook valley towards the Bayston Hill roundabout. If your postcode starts SY3, we can almost certainly get a skip to you.

We will be straight with you: we are not a Shrewsbury firm - our depot is in Madeley, Telford, and we deliver into Meole Brace round the A5 bypass, a run our drivers make regularly. Every size is kept in stock: 3 and 4 yard minis, 6 yard midis, our most popular 8 yard builders skip, and 10 and 12 yard maxis. Because we own our fleet, next-day delivery is standard, same-day is possible subject to availability, and hire runs 7 days. You can see live prices and book online in about two minutes.

Skip sizes for Meole Brace homes and projects

Meole Brace has a genuine mix of housing, and the right skip depends on the job. Around the old Meole Village core near Holy Trinity, the Victorian and Edwardian terraces and villas have mature gardens and period fabric - old plaster, lath and chimney breasts - so a strip-out throws up real weight, and a 6 yard midi is often the right call. A 3 or 4 yard mini suits a garden tidy or single-room clear-out; across the interwar and postwar semis, a 4 to 6 yard skip fits a kitchen or bathroom rip-out, a garage clear or a loft job.

Our 8 yard builders skip is the one most Meole Brace households reach for - it holds roughly 80 bin bags' worth of mixed waste, suits a full house clearance or a whole-property refurbishment, and sits comfortably on the drive of a larger detached or period home. On the newer estates the jobs skew smaller, garden and landscaping loads a 3 or 4 yard mini handles neatly. One tip for driveway and patio work: heavy soil, hardcore and rubble reach safe lifting weights long before a big skip looks full, so split heavy loads across smaller skips.

Skip delivery to Meole Brace and SY3

From our Madeley depot we head west along the M54, which runs on as the A5 Shrewsbury bypass round the south of the town. We come off at the Bayston Hill roundabout - the A5/A49/A5112 junction locals call Dobbies Island - then follow the A5112 Hereford Road via Meole Brace Island and the Hereford Road roundabout straight into the suburb. That is trunk road and dual carriageway almost the whole way, with no town-centre navigation, so Meole Brace is a straightforward drop for a skip lorry. Retail-park traffic can queue at the roundabouts at busy times, so tell us if your timing is tight.

We place every skip on your own private driveway or land, where it sits securely and out of the way for the whole hire. All the driver needs is a firm, level spot with clear access for the lorry. The one thing to flag is the old Meole Village core, where narrower period streets mean tighter manoeuvring - so when you book, tell us about anything awkward, a tight frontage or a shared entry, and we will plan the drop.

Commercial skips around Meole Brace

Meole Brace is mostly residential, but there is steady trade work across it - builders, kitchen and bathroom fitters and landscapers working through the period core and the semis, driveway and patio contractors, and the occasional fit-out job around the Hereford Road retail corridor. We supply all of them with 8, 10 and 12 yard builders skips for site waste, strip-outs and refurbishment work, delivered straight in off the A5112.

For trades that produce waste regularly, we run scheduled and repeat collections and can set up a commercial account, so you are not re-booking every job. Everything comes back to our own Madeley facility, and as an Environment Agency registered waste carrier we provide the waste transfer documentation you need to keep your duty-of-care records straight.

Eco-friendly disposal at our Madeley facility

A skip you hire in Meole Brace is not bound for landfill. Once we collect it, the load comes back down the A5 to our own yard in Madeley, where it is tipped, graded and separated by material - timber, metal, soil, rubble and clean hardcore each set aside for recovery and re-use. More than 90% of what we bring back is kept out of landfill, and the rest is recycled or recovered wherever we can.

The everyday stuff goes straight in: household clear-outs, garden waste, building and renovation debris, wood, metal, bricks, rubble, soil and old furniture. A handful of materials are off-limits, by law or on safety grounds - asbestos, gas bottles, tyres, batteries, paint and other liquids, electrical items and WEEE, and any hazardous chemicals all stay out, and plasterboard has to be kept apart from a general load. If an item leaves you unsure, flag it when you book and we will point you the right way.

About Meole Brace

Meole Brace was a village in its own right until 1935, when its parish was abolished and the area was absorbed into Shrewsbury - yet it keeps a distinct old core, still known locally as Meole Village, around Holy Trinity Church. That Grade II* listed Victorian church, consecrated in 1869 to a design by Edward Pugin, is known for its William Morris & Co stained glass. The Rea Brook, once the Meole Brook, still runs through on its way to the Severn, and the Meole Brace Retail Park on the A5112 is the main out-of-town shopping destination south of Shrewsbury, with Shrewsbury Town's Montgomery Waters Meadow just to the east.

Green Skip Hire runs from our Madeley (TF7) depot, covering Telford, Shrewsbury and the wider Shropshire area. For full coverage, prices and FAQs, see our main service hubs: skip hire in Shrewsbury and skip hire in Telford.
