Skip Hire Services in Shifnal

Green Skip Hire delivers 3, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12-yard skips across Shifnal and the wider TF11 area, from £120, with same-day delivery subject to availability - our depot and recycling facility is just a few miles away in Madeley.

Local skip hire across Shifnal and TF11

We're a family-run Shropshire skip company and Shifnal is right on our doorstep - only a few miles east of our Madeley depot. We keep the full range of skips in stock and ready to roll, so whether you're clearing a home in the older brick streets around St Andrew's Church, a project in the centre near Bradford Street and the High Street, or a newer plot on one of the estates that have grown up around the town since the 1950s, we can usually get a skip to you fast.

As well as the town itself, we cover the villages and hamlets Shifnal is the natural hub for - Sheriffhales, Tong, Ryton, Kemberton, Beckbury, Priorslee and out towards Cosford. Every size we offer is held at the Madeley depot: 3 and 4-yard mini and midi skips, 6-yard builders' skips, our popular 8-yard, and 10 and 12-yard skips for the bigger clearances. We'll aim to get a skip to you the same day where we can, subject to availability; otherwise it's typically next day, and standard hire includes 7 days.

Skip sizes for Shifnal homes and projects

Shifnal is a real mix - Georgian and timber-framed frontages along the High Street, solid Victorian and Edwardian brick terraces near the centre, semi-rural cottages out in the surrounding parishes, and the post-war and modern estates that ring the town. The right skip depends on the job, not the postcode, so here's how it usually maps out.

For a garden tidy, a single room strip-out or a clear-out on a tighter town-centre plot, a 3 or 4-yard skip is the sensible choice. A 6-yard skip suits a typical kitchen or bathroom refit. The 8-yard is our most popular all-rounder and, as a rough guide, holds around 80 bin bags of household and clearance waste - ideal for a full house clearance or garage sort-out. For builders, extensions and bigger renovation projects on the larger rural plots, a 10 or 12-yard skip gives you the room you need.

One important tip: heavy materials like soil, hardcore and rubble are far better split across smaller skips rather than loaded into one big one. A skip full of rubble hits its weight limit long before it's full, so two 4-yard skips of soil are safer and more practical than overloading a single large one. If you're not sure, give us a ring and we'll talk it through honestly.

Same-day delivery to Shifnal and TF11

From our Madeley base we're only a short run from Shifnal. We own our own fleet and use our own drivers, so the times we quote are times we can actually keep, and we can reach the town and the estates around it without fuss. Tell us where you are when you book and we'll plan the quickest approach from the depot.

Shifnal has its share of narrow spots - the older lanes around the church, tighter frontages on the historic streets, and gravelled approaches on the more rural plots out towards Sheriffhales and Kemberton. Wherever you are, the skip goes on your own private driveway or land - just point our driver to a firm, level spot with clear access and we'll set it down neatly and squarely. If access is awkward, tell us when you book and we'll plan the drop-off properly.

Commercial skips around Shifnal

Shifnal has a steady working economy - trades working across the surrounding parishes, shops and pubs in the town centre, the local industrial units, and the constant activity around the wider Telford-Wolverhampton corridor on the doorstep. We supply builders, landlords, shopfitters, landscapers and site managers across all of it.

For trade and commercial work our 8, 10 and 12-yard builders' skips do the heavy lifting, and we can set up scheduled or repeat collections so a full skip is swapped for an empty one without you chasing us. If you run regular waste, a commercial account keeps the paperwork simple and the costs predictable. We're an Environment Agency registered waste carrier, so your duty-of-care documentation is handled properly every time.

Eco-friendly disposal at our Madeley facility

Every skip we collect comes back to our own facility in Madeley, where loads are sorted by hand and machine rather than just tipped. We work hard to divert over 90% of what we handle away from landfill, recovering wood, metal, rubble, soil, garden green waste and reusable furniture for recycling and reuse.

We can take general household, garden and construction waste, timber, metal, bricks and hardcore, soil and old furniture. There are some things we can't accept in a skip for legal and safety reasons: asbestos, plasterboard (which has to be kept separate from general waste), batteries, paint and liquids, tyres, electrical items and WEEE, gas bottles, and any hazardous chemicals. If you've got something on that list, give us a call before you book and we'll point you the right way.

About Shifnal

Shifnal earned its market charter back in 1245 from Henry III, and that long history still shows - in the Georgian and timber-framed buildings along the High Street, in St Andrew's Church with its Norman chancel, and in the railway that came through in 1849 and put the coaching trade out of business almost overnight. There's even a local tradition that Charles Dickens, who visited the town, drew on its old buildings for The Old Curiosity Shop. None of that history changes the basics of a good skip service - and Shifnal, in Shropshire just east of Telford, is one of the towns we know best, only a few miles from our Madeley depot.

Green Skip Hire runs from our Madeley (TF7) depot, covering Telford, Shrewsbury and the wider Shropshire area. For full coverage, prices and FAQs, see our main service hubs: skip hire in Telford and skip hire in Shrewsbury.
