1. Introduction

These terms and conditions govern your use of skip hire services provided by Green Skip Hire ("we", "us", or "our"), a waste management company based at Plot 12, Tweedale North Ind Est, Madeley, TF7 4JR.

By placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before making a booking.

2. Skip Hire Services

2.1 Service Description

We provide skip hire services for domestic and commercial customers in Telford, Shrewsbury, and surrounding areas within approximately 20 miles of our depot.

2.2 Hire Period

The standard hire period is 14 days from the date of delivery. Extended hire periods may be available upon request and may incur additional charges.

2.3 Skip Sizes

We offer skip sizes ranging from 3 yards to 12 yards. The capacity and suitability of each skip size is described on our website. We recommend selecting the appropriate size for your needs, and our team is available to advise if you are unsure.

3. Pricing and Payment

3.1 Prices

All prices quoted on our website include VAT. Prices vary depending on skip size and delivery location (zone). Final prices are confirmed at the time of booking based on your postcode.

3.2 Payment

Payment is required at the time of booking via our secure online payment system (Worldpay). We accept major credit and debit cards.

3.3 Additional Charges

Additional charges may apply for:

  • Extended hire periods beyond 14 days
  • Overloaded skips (waste above the skip line)
  • Prohibited items found in the skip (see Section 5)
  • Failed delivery or collection due to access issues

4. Delivery and Collection

4.1 Delivery

We aim to deliver skips on the date requested, subject to availability. Same-day delivery may be available for orders placed before 10am, subject to availability.

4.2 Placement

You must ensure there is adequate access for our delivery vehicle and sufficient space for the skip. Skips placed on private property are your responsibility. Skips placed on public highways require a permit from the local council.

4.3 Collection

We will collect the skip on or around the agreed collection date. Please ensure the skip is accessible and not overloaded at the time of collection.

5. Acceptable and Prohibited Waste

5.1 Acceptable Waste

Our skips can be used for general household waste, garden waste, soil, rubble, wood, metal, and mixed construction waste.

5.2 Prohibited Items

The following items must NOT be placed in our skips:

  • Asbestos or asbestos-containing materials
  • Batteries (car or household)
  • Gas bottles or cylinders
  • Paint, oils, solvents, or chemicals
  • Tyres
  • Electrical equipment (WEEE)
  • Fluorescent tubes
  • Medical or clinical waste
  • Food waste
  • Plasterboard (unless agreed in advance)

If prohibited items are found in the skip, additional charges will apply for their safe disposal.

6. Skip Permits

If you need to place a skip on a public road, pavement, or other public land, you will need to obtain a skip permit from the local council. We do not arrange permits on behalf of customers.

7. Your Responsibilities

As the customer, you are responsible for:

  • Ensuring accurate delivery address and access information
  • Obtaining any necessary permits for public highway placement
  • Ensuring the skip is not overloaded (waste must not exceed the top of the skip)
  • Ensuring only permitted waste is placed in the skip
  • Maintaining visibility of the skip (not covering or obscuring it)
  • Any damage to the skip during the hire period
  • Ensuring the skip is accessible for collection

8. Cancellations and Refunds

8.1 Cancellation by Customer

Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled delivery will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 24 hours of delivery may be subject to a cancellation fee.

8.2 Cancellation by Us

We reserve the right to cancel orders due to circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, a full refund will be provided.

9. Liability

We take reasonable care in the delivery and collection of skips. However, we are not liable for:

  • Damage to driveways, paths, or other surfaces caused by the weight of the skip or delivery vehicle
  • Any items left in the skip at the time of collection
  • Delays caused by circumstances beyond our control
  • Loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with these terms

10. Environmental Commitment

We are committed to responsible waste management and aim to recycle or recover at least 90% of all waste collected. Waste is processed at licensed facilities in accordance with all applicable environmental regulations.

11. Data Protection

We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to such processing.

12. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
