Skip Hire Services in Oakengates

Green Skip Hire delivers skips across Oakengates (TF2) from our Madeley depot just down the road, with same-day delivery subject to availability and prices from £120 — every size dropped neatly onto your own driveway, yard or land.

Local skip hire across Oakengates

We regularly cover the whole of Oakengates and the streets and estates around it — Wrockwardine Wood, St George's, Snedshill, Priorslee, Wombridge and Ketley Bank, and out toward Donnington, Hollinswood and Ketley. Oakengates sits just off the A442 with the M54 at junctions 4 and 5 close by, and because our depot is a straight run south at Madeley, this is one of the patches our drivers know best, so deliveries here are quick and reliable.

We run the full range of skip sizes from the Madeley yard: 3 and 4-yard midi skips, 6-yard builders' skips, our most popular 8-yard, and 10 to 12-yard large skips for bigger clearances and building work. We'll aim to have a skip with you the same day where we can, subject to availability — book any time and it lands when you need it. We're a family-run firm running deliveries on our own fleet, so the truck that pulls into Oakengates is generally one of ours, and standard 7-day hire is included with every booking.

Skip sizes for Oakengates homes & projects

Oakengates is a proper mix of housing, and the right skip really depends on what you're shifting. Around the town centre, Market Street and Limes Walk you'll find older miners' and Victorian terraces, while the post-war and newer Telford estates spreading out through St George's, Priorslee and toward Hollinswood give you everything from compact townhouses to family homes with longer drives. Those different plots suit very different skips.

For a garage clear-out, a single room strip-out or a garden overhaul on a tighter terraced plot, a 3 or 4-yard midi skip drops neatly onto the drive without eating up your whole frontage. A 6-yard suits a kitchen or bathroom refit, while our 8-yard is the workhorse for a full house or garden clearance — roughly 80 bin bags' worth as a rough guide — and it's the size plenty of Oakengates households end up choosing. For an extension, a loft conversion or a builder running a bigger job, the 10 to 12-yard skips give you the room for bulky, lightweight waste.

One tip worth knowing before you book: heavy materials like soil, hardcore, broken concrete and old rubble are far better split across a couple of smaller skips than piled into one big one. It's weight, not space, that catches people out — a brimming large skip of rubble can tip over the safe lifting limit, so we'll happily steer you to the safest combination for the job.

Same-day delivery to Oakengates & TF2

From our Madeley depot the run up to Oakengates is short and direct, usually following the A442 corridor north before dropping into the TF2 streets — so we can often be on your drive the same day where availability allows. Book in the morning and there's a good chance we can sort it that day; either way we'll give you a clear delivery window.

A few Oakengates streets are worth a quick thought before delivery. The older terraced rows around the town centre, Market Street and the lanes climbing away from Limes Walk can have narrow frontages and tighter approaches, so it always helps to tell us about access when you book. Wherever you are, the skip goes on your own private driveway, yard or land — our driver just needs a firm, level spot with clear access to set it down safely. If your drive is short, sloped or hemmed in, let us know, or send a quick photo, and we'll advise before the truck sets off.

Commercial skips around Oakengates

Oakengates grew up on coal and iron, and that working streak still shows in the small workshops, trade units and yards dotted around the town, St George's and the wider industrial estates toward Donnington and Hortonwood. We work with plenty of local builders, landlords, shopfitters and groundworkers, and our 8 to 12-yard builders' skips are sized for exactly that kind of construction, refit and strip-out waste.

If you're a trade customer running back-to-back jobs across Oakengates and the wider Telford area, we set up scheduled and repeat collections so a fresh skip is there the moment the last one's full, keeping the site tidy and the work moving. Commercial accounts are quick to open and billing is straightforward. We're an Environment Agency registered waste carrier and provide full waste transfer paperwork for every commercial load.

Eco-friendly disposal at our Madeley facility

Every skip we collect from Oakengates comes back to our Madeley facility, where loads are sorted by hand and machine rather than tipped straight to landfill. We aim to divert the large majority — around 90% or more — of what we handle away from landfill, recovering wood, metal, rubble, soil, green garden waste, furniture and general household and construction waste for recycling or reuse.

There are a few things that can't go in a skip, for safety and legal reasons: no asbestos, plasterboard, batteries, paint or liquids, tyres, electrical items and WEEE, gas bottles, or any hazardous or chemical waste. Almost everything else from a household, garden or building job is fine. If you're unsure about an item from a clearance or refit, just ask when you book and we'll tell you how to deal with it properly.

About Oakengates

Oakengates was an industrial town long before Telford new town grew up around it, built on the coal and ironstone of the East Shropshire coalfield. Iron-making ran deep here — the Snedshill furnaces just south of the centre were among the early coke blast furnaces in the county, and the surrounding ground at Wrockwardine Wood, Wombridge and Hollinswood was riddled with the pits and works that powered the area. The town still keeps its Saturday market along Limes Walk and remains a busy local centre, with the theatre at Theatre Square — long known as The Place — a fixture of the town's cultural life.

The Shrewsbury to Wolverhampton railway line runs straight through the town, with Oakengates station and the 471-yard Oakengates Tunnel just to the west toward Telford Central. Add in the long-running Bunny Fair funfair that takes over the streets each year, and Oakengates keeps plenty of its own character. We've been clearing waste across these streets and estates for many years, so the town and its housing are very familiar ground for us.

Green Skip Hire runs from our Madeley (TF7) depot, covering Telford, Shrewsbury and the wider Shropshire area. For full coverage, prices and FAQs, see our main service hubs: skip hire in Telford and skip hire in Shrewsbury.
